TUPE transfer to Teleperformance - UPDATE

Dear member,

Thank you for attending our member engagement call on the 10th March concerning the TUPE transfer to Teleperformance and for sharing your views and concerns.

Since the call we have formally written to the BCB Director Kim Kinnaird to raise our collective concerns, those being: -

  • Pension impacts

  • Share plan/GPS/Flex benefit impacts

  • Short time frames to find an alternative role in LBG

  • Concerns that agency staff are taking on roles in the area

  • No alternative roles being sourced for colleagues to remain in LBG

  • Concerns that the bank are losing loyal and hard-working colleagues to a third party without exploring alternative colleague treatment strategies to find a mutually acceptable position

We also requested that the Group pause its current timeline to give us time to get back around the table and discuss these important issues with the aim of trying to reach an agreeable position. In addition to this, we have also stressed the need for an immediate pause to the official transfer to Teleperformance to ensure we have meaningful dialogue and allow impacted colleagues have more time to find opportunities to find alternative roles within the Group, a key ask from our member engagement session.

The Group have responded by restating they have complied with the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations (TUPE)  and that they have been open to impacted colleagues finding roles in the Group subject to that being before the 1st April 2025.

While we appreciate this is not the response you were all hoping to receive the bank are adhering to the legal process.

A number of members have been in touch since the engagement session to flag Accords consultative survey, requesting for a similar survey to be issued by Unite. While we support Accord we have not issued a similar survey during this period because we believe any improvements now need to be negotiated with the incoming employer, Teleperformance. We are requesting an urgent meeting with the senior management team of Teleperformance to discuss your very serious concerns and to try to negotiate improvements to the current measures. Until these negotiations have completed all avenues have not been exhausted.  If the negotiations prove to be unsuccessful Unite will consult you further and at that point consider a membership survey.

We invite members to respond to this email outlining any further improvements to the package currently being proposed by Teleperformance that you would like Unite the Union to negotiate on your behalf.

Please email LBG.Support@unitetheunion.orgoutlining your views by the end of this week.

In the meantime, if you need any support regarding the transfer and how it impacts your personal circumstances then please email the team ASAP - LBG.Support@unitetheunion.org and a member of the rep team will be in touch.

Please do let us know how the Group & Teleperformance townhall sessions have gone and if you don’t feel that your questions have been answered during these sessions then please send them to the LBG Support email and we will raise them with colleague relations.

We know this is an unsettling and anxious period for all those impacted and we thank you for your patience during this period.

If you know anyone who isn’t a member in your team or department then now is the time to get them signed up - www.uniteinlbg.org/join - this is vital when we are looking at next steps including collective actions, so please share this comms with fellow impacted colleagues.

In solidarity

Your Unite in LBG team
