BANK HOLIDAYS - A PREMIUM DAY?

Bank Holidays were once a time where workers could have a day off at the same time - giving people a much needed respite and access to quality family time.
Through the years, LBG’s bank holiday procedures have eroded the right to be off on most Bank Holidays, with some departments having no say in whether they work them or not.
Unite believes that people should have the choice to work Bank Holidays, and be reimbursed properly if their department is open on that day.
This Bank Holiday on 27th May, join us in the call for LBG to adopt an approach that sees:
Business areas to review Bank Holiday opening, closing except where absolutely necessary
Where Bank Holiday opening is a necessity, a voluntary-only approach to be adopted
Bank Holidays to be a premium day and paid at a higher rate than a normal day
